The AM CoE is developing a comprehensive education and workforce development program to provide training for all roles and levels, continually incorporating new advances, responding to industry needs, and leveraging standardization, certification, and the expertise of our partners.

The AM CoE Advantage

We are ideally suited to train and educate the workforce because of our position at the intersection of leading-edge AM R&D and standards development. Our program’s key differentiators:

  • Learn from the leading AM voices: Leverages the combined expertise and resources of our partners to develop and teach courses

  • Broad course variety and accessibility: Provides courses covering a wide variety of topics, roles, and skill levels and in a variety of locations to be accessible to a wider audience

  • Focused certification pathways: Awards certificates for completing series of courses that build upon each other and will comply with the ASTM Standard Practice for Certificate Programs

  • Relevant and timely content: Designs courses that focus on current gaps in the training landscape and incorporate relevant regulations and standards

We’re driving, through the Center of Excellence, a way for people to come together, have conversations, and be able to think about what is needed to bring additive manufacturing to the next level.
— Christine Furstoss, Vice President, GE Additive

Course Variety

As we develop our certificate pathways and core courses, we are planning offerings in the following formats:

  • Webinars and virtual classrooms

  • Face-to-face “bootcamps” and workshops

  • eLearning short courses
