About the Course
With the industrialization of additive manufacturing (AM) there is a growing demand to fill the existing knowledge gap. ASTM International, who has been providing word-class training on AM, and Nikon, a world leader in providing AM solutions teamed up to provide a training course with the mission to support scaling up of AM adoption.
The ASTM certificate course in ‘AM Essential for Professionals’ provides knowledge on the various practices of AM covering different process categories, terminologies, standards associated with different processes and applications, and how these standards can be utilized for developing qualification and certification. Diverse feedstock materials are available for additive manufacturing, and the selection of these materials is critical for specific application requirements. The course provides guidance on material selection and considerations for creating a material specification for your application.
Design and simulation is another key topic covered in this course, which specifies design considerations and design rules to optimize an existing design or generate a new design suitable to produce with an AM process. It will provide the details of applicable AM design standards and simulation tools that need to be considered while designing a part. The course also covers non-destructive evaluation methods and in-situ monitoring that can be applied to AM.
There is an opportunity to interact with industry experts on the current state-of-the-art of AM technology during the Day 1 of the course as part of the AM learning journey organized at the Nikon headquarters.
Who Should Attend
Whether you’re new to AM or seeking to advance your knowledge, this course welcomes all interested in gaining awareness of the latest advancements and best practices in AM. Learn from industry experts at ASTM AM CoE and Nikon, and earn a globally recognized certificate from ASTM International upon completion.
