Workshops

About

Workshops are intended to provide the current AM state of the art across different domains such as materials, processes, testing, inspection, qualification, and certification. The workshops are categorized into Snapshot Workshops and Specialty Workshops.

Snapshot Workshops

Snapshot workshops provide a general understanding about the entire AM value chain covering different elements in AM processes, AM applications across various industries, gaps in AM standardization, and research needs to fill those gaps. Snapshot workshops are conducted twice in a year in conjunction with ASTM F42 standard committee meetings. Led by key experts from Industry and Academia, this workshop serves as a platform for the discussions on latest standard development activities. The topics for the future workshops are selected based on the feedback from AM stakeholders and previous attendees.

Specialty Workshops

Specialty workshops offer a deeper understanding on a specific topic. The topics covered are both technology and industry specific. This workshop gathers insights from technical experts on gaps, pain points, identify opportunities, and suggest methods to develop solutions. One of the intended outcomes from this workshop is to develop strategic guidance that can lead to development of standards.
