Mastering Standards for Additive Manufacturing Operations

ASTM Certificate Course at AMUG 2025

March 29, 12pm – 5pm CT

March 30, 9am – 4pm CT

About the Course

Course Description:

“The best thing about Standards is that there are so many to choose from.” Slade Gardner, Big Metal Additive, ICAM 2023.

In recent years, the Standards landscape for additive manufacturing has evolved and expanded significantly. This course equips engineers with the knowledge to leverage these Standards effectively, enhancing quality, ensuring safety, and optimizing their daily workflows.

Rather than a series of lectures, this course focuses on the practical application of Standards through experience. We won’t be reviewing Standards line-by-line on a projector for two days. Instead, you’ll gain hands-on experience and insights into how to effectively apply Standards in your work.

Course instructors have years of in-depth experience writing Standards, leveraging qualification & certification Standards, materials science knowledge, and producing additive manufacturing parts. The learning methods are based on logical and practical experience, with real-life best practices and lessons learned shared throughout the course.

Who Should Attend:

This course is aimed at intermediate to advanced professionals using, or planning to use, additive manufacturing in serial or critical applications, and who wish to understand how Standards can support their activities. Attendees should have a strong background in additive manufacturing.
