Arash Soltani

Additive Manufacturing Materials Engineer

Dr. Arash Soltani is the Additive Manufacturing Materials Engineer for Global Advanced Manufacturing Programs at ASTM International. He is an experienced engineer specializing in additive manufacturing (AM) of metallic materials, with over 7 years of expertise in process optimization, parameter development, process control, and fatigue analysis. He earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Auburn University in 2022, where his research focused on nickel, titanium, cobalt-chromium alloys, and stainless steels, resulting in 14 peer-reviewed journal publications.

Dr. Soltani previously worked as a Materials and Process Engineer at Blue Origin, where he supported the AM team by leading efforts in parameter development to enhance production rates and part quality, material and process qualification, root cause investigations, and statistical analysis. In recognition of his contributions to the field, he was honored with the AM Young Professionals Award by ASTM International in 2023. Dr. Soltani is passionate about advancing the industrialization and qualification of AM technologies by driving operational excellence and efficiency.
