About
In collaboration between ASTM Additive Manufacturing Center of Excellence (AM CoE) and the National Center for Additive Manufacturing Excellence (NCAME), this exclusive workshop on Model-Assisted and NDE-based Qualification Methods for AM Parts will delve into the intricacies of industry acceptance, exploring the importance of equivalency and data management. Participants will engage in in-depth discussions on:
- The effects of defects,
- The concept of the ‘allowable defect’,
- How these factors influence structural integrity & fatigue performance of materials.
This workshop aims to build a consensus among experts and provide actionable recommendations for the community, paving the way for the next steps in enhancing NDE techniques and predictive models. ASTM International Consortium for Materials Data and Standardization (CMDS)
This workshop will be held in conjunction with the annual meeting of the ASTM Consortium for Materials Data and Standardization (CMDS) on April 30th. With 40+ organizations as members, the ASTM CMDS was established in 2022 to advance the generation, management, and standardization of materials data for additive manufacturing (AM). With the goal to to ensure AM materials standards evolve with technological advancements, its key objectives include:
- Developing reliable and repeatable materials data.
- Establishing standardized testing and qualification protocols.
- Enhancing data traceability and interoperability.
- Supporting industry and regulatory needs.
- Fostering collaboration among government, academia, and industry.
