Theme: Bridging Sector-Specific AM Certifications: Shared Standards and Post-Deployment Challenges

Organized by U.S. Commercial Service, ASTM International, ISO – International Organization for Standardization, and America Makes and in partnership with Mesago Formnext.

Held during Formnext 2025, this one-day summit brings together leading voices from government, industry, and standards organizations to explore how additive manufacturing (AM) is being industrialized across sectors—and what it will take to scale adoption in the years ahead.

Through keynotes, panel discussions, and a hands-on breakout workshop, the program will explore sector-specific approaches, success stories, and challenges in AM qualification and certification. What does it really take to bring AM parts into real-world applications? Who are the key decision-makers within organizations that need to be convinced? Topics will include:

  • Emerging cross-sector needs in AM qualification and process certification

  • How to implement and scale ISO/ASTM standards in high-performance industries

  • Sector-specific case studies from aerospace, oil & gas, automotive, and semiconductors

  • Insights from government and standards bodies on global alignment

This is your opportunity to engage directly with the organizations shaping the AM ecosystem and help build common ground for trusted, standards-based adoption.

Who Should Attend

This event is open to all involved in additive manufacturing—from engineering and operations to standards, policy, and strategy. We especially welcome:

  • Executives, Engineers, and Technical Managers

  • Quality & Certification Leads

  • Standards professionals and government representatives

  • Researchers, academics, and advisors in AM policy or adoption

  • Anyone working to scale AM responsibly and cost-effectively

Why You Should Attend

  • Gain first-hand insights from major OEMs, government officials, and standards leaders

  • Understand how AM qualification challenges are being addressed across industries

  • Explore real-world case studies and strategic opportunities for cross-sector alignment

  • Take part in an interactive breakout workshop focused on selected ISO/ASTM standards with cross-industry relevance. In small groups, you’ll review key sections, explore real-world applications, and identify where further guidance is needed.

  • Contribute your expertise and leave with practical takeaways for implementing AM at scale.
