On-Demand Webinar

Multi-Material Processing in AM

July 29, 2021

About the Webinar:

This webinar aims to provide an overview on multi-material processing by means of laser-based powder bed fusion of metals. Relevant in-process technologies to produce metal multi-material parts are introduced. Moreover, core challenges regarding pre-processing and post-processing of metal multi-material parts are described. Furthermore, realized case studies are presented which specifically illustrate the potential of metal multi-material AM. The outline of the course will include:

  • Short introduction of state of the art in multi-material processing at Fraunhofer IGCV
  • Fundamentals of multi-material processing by means of laser-based powder bed fusion of metals
  • Challenges along the process chain
    • Pre-process
    • In-process
    • Post-process
  • Case Studies
  • Summary and outlook

Learning Outcomes:

After completing this webinar the attendees will achieve the following

  • Understanding of potentials and challenges of multi-material processing by means of powder bed AM processes
  • Overview on pre-processing and post-processing
  • Knowledge about specific case studies

Who Should Attend:

Manufacturing Engineers, Research Engineers, AM Process Engineers
