About the Event

The Specialty Workshop Series: Additive Manufacturing Data Management and Schema will be held December 9-10, 2019 in Washington, DC and will be sponsored by the ASTM Additive Manufacturing Center of Excellence.

Objective

As the field of additive manufacturing (AM) quickly evolves, AM data capture, generation, management, utilization, and sharing have become essential to accelerate the AM development timeline. ASTM is holding this workshop to review the most recent AM data sharing and use by bringing government, industry, and academia representatives together. ASTM is developing a roadmap to support improved data sharing and use and ensure the timely development of related standards.

Topics addressed in this workshop will include:

  • AM data generation and pedigree

  • Advanced data-driven approaches in AM

  • AM database and data management system (access, standardization, maintenance, security and dissemination)

4th ASTM Symposium on Structural Integrity of Additive Manufactured Materials and Parts

  • Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

To ensure the structural integrity of additively manufactured parts, there is a need for establishing process-structure-property-performance relationships; specifically, where these components and structures are being used in safety critical applications. This event will provide a forum for the exchange of ideas regarding the structural integrity of parts fabricated using additive manufacturing with a focus on the lack of industry standards, design principals, as well as qualification and certification challenges. The materials of interest include metals, polymers, composites, and ceramics. This event is designed for professionals within the AM community including industry, academia and government agencies.
